    Y-Straps Opinions Please

I've had these 2 sets of Y-Straps for some time now, and since I'm thinning out a few things in the Bunker I wanted to confirm there original & not post war.

If any better photos will help please let me know.
Any comments or input would be a big help.

The first set is a black pair, my guess is Heer, with D-Rings & hooks.
I can make out "WEIN" in a makers mark on one of the straps by the ring.

Here's the second pair, which I believe are pre war Luft, but I'm not sure.

They're light brown leather w/aluminum hooks, no markings that I can see.

These are much lighter brown than they look in the photos.

Let me know what you think.

to be honest I dont like too much both of them....

no 1 is post war for me ...
no 2 looks suspicious... and post war also....
                just my 2 cents...

                  Hi Mike,

I'm with you I'm afraid! They look like straps made immediately after the War;I checked them out before but you have posted the answer I was going to give!
It's always sad to tell that to a fellow collector, but it's also right for him to know which are the pieces he should keep and the ones he'd let go!
                  Best
                  Manny

The first set may have been an original set once. You can see where the D-rings were once attached. The rivets are a big no go though.

So basically rivets are a bad sign on original Y-Straps?

Do both of these appear to be post war?

Just want a little clarification so I know what I'm looking for in the future, what are the right signs?
                      Regards,
                      Chris

Riveted straps are no good IMO.... and yes - both of those are post war...

Jeff - these D-ringd straces are in wrong direction... - I doubt these are traces after D-rings...

                          Y-straps

The "d-ring traces" are actually where pads were sewn on to them- looks like post war Bundeswehr to me on the top pair, not converted originals.
