    Y-strap question

Hello, a friend picked this up at the flohmarkt in Wittenberg last week and the front of the straps are perfect. However the rear is someting that I have never seen. The paint on the metal is correct, and the leather cut looks right, but the metal device and leather tab??

    Any comments are greatly appreciated.

I always considered those back straps as a postwar.... well... maybe we can learn something new .. I am waiting for other opinions too

I'm on Kuligow's side on this. That is not the strap I like to see on a good set of "Y" straps. It is not the typical manufacture strap which always calls into question its origionality.

That is just my humble opinion.

          Thanks!

After further research too, The AG logo on the front hooks indicates an Austrian manufacturer that produced from 44 on. The front of the straps are wartime production with an immediate post war rear. Thanks a lot!
