Laufschutzer 43 refurbished.

A few months ago I bought a laufschutzer.
Unfortunately I got to hear from a forum member that is was French was repainted. This afternoon I removed the fake paint off, and under the ugly gray paint sat the beautiful yellow sand paint.
It was difficult to remove the white numbers to remove, you can still see a little bit but not annoying for the eye. At some places the gray paint was thick on greased.
There is in some corners a little gray paint, which is hard to see with the eye. I go this coming week with a cotton swab to remove.

I have 1 hour and 30 minutes spent for remove the fake paint.

Picture (4) was made with flashlight and photo 17 you can see another number 1305 written in pencil, I think. Proberly the laufschutzer 1305 belonged to the MG with serial number''1305''.

Looks great, I have to ask, what did you use to remove the gray paint?

Hello paul.

I used to remove the paint alabastine.
The original paint under the gray layer is fortunately not affected.

yes. The albastine is very strong stuff, it works after just after 5 minutes you see the paint bubble and go quietly I have taken it with a cloth. The stuff is not cheap, but works well. It smells pretty high this strong stuff, so ventilate your room well ;-)

No idea if this is the trade name only in Holland maybe??
I bought it at the Formido here in Holland, at the paint stripping products, You can also rinse it with water.

Have you the same gray color at your laufschutzer? And what you will you use for remover? And when you done, well post pictures :-)
