Opinions on a patronenkasten 41 für MG markings

Hi guys,

I found this "patronenkasten 41 für MG" directly from an attic in Normandy so there is no doubts on anything.

I just would like to understand what is the signification of the markings on a side which are "SS05" or rather "2205".

2205...maybe a serial number for the MG the can went with??

I think so yes.

I've made a mistake it is "5502" and not "2205"
