    Hi

What do you think about this German boots?
They look original to me, but I would love to hear more opinions.

    Thom !

boots are difficult, and usually it comes down to what satisfies You as a buyer.

for me boots worth buying must be 100% textbook - sharknose, with german code and size, manufacturer stamp and hardware - must be issue - not private purchase.

these seem german private purchase and there is plenty of boots like that around. its up to You

Another pair of boots identical to these (but in slightly better condition) fetched somewhat less on ebay.de this past May: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...417014&page=10

That particular pair was unmistakably marked with the letters "THW"; the seller made no attempt to hide this fact, though he also asserted that the boots themselves came from unused WH stock.

Based on the available evidence, the one thing we can say for sure is that these boots were once issued to the THW. Whether they were made before 1945 and had managed to survive in sufficient quantities to be re-issued by a post-war government agency is another matter however. There is always an element of faith involved when collectors deal with these ambiguous items.

Nevertheless, if you happen to collect THW, these would make a super addition if you can avoid paying a TR premium for them.
