KARAT Werk Wien Cigarette Lighter - Vet P/U - Is It Wartime German?

No it's not one of the millions of "trench lighters".

Anyway, I picked this up earlier along with a mix of US and German items from a WWII Vet estate sale. I have not encountered another German commercial lighter before or since included in US Vet lot.

Lighters are specialty unto themselves esp. wartime US Zippo's. This one is marked - KARAT Jederzeit Feuerbereit, Karat Werk Wien (some is hard to read due to wear in area).

I assume this is a wartime Austrian (German) manufacture but wanted to confirm. Anyone have experience with lighters?
