        Sorry Jan,

Does any of your wooden 'verbandkasten' have the original 'list of contents'? If so, could you show them? Thanks!

Jim, nice stuff! Interesting markings on the Lazaret box

Carles, no label or traces of old label inside.

IMO the labels in wooden verbandkasten (which I consider late war) were not factory level added as with metal or panzerholz boxes - so glued on the inside of the cover. I think that often, maybe not always, they were lying loose in it - this is based on personal opinion -

I still have much to learn on these - Ed (member Stroh) could maybe give his opinion?

          Regards

I agree with Jan that the late war wood verbandkasten cases did not come from the manufacturer with a contents label. I have seen some wood cases with a typed contents label that has been taped to the inside lid. However, these labels were simplified and did not list the contents in the detail that the factory supplied label did.

                        Jan,

Saved this from the scrap yesterday!

                        http://www.military-awards.eu/forum/...dinace-Tan-Tin

I am sure it is of the period and reminds me of the parachute tin?

Can you shed any light on its use?

                        Thanks.

                          Jan,

'Stand down' false alarm. It is a liner from an ammunition box for the 3.7cm Flak M39 a (r).

I only know as I have found a complete box in the recycle centre. It is nicely marked up and wooden on the exterior.

                          Cheers.

                          Jock
