MP40 mag pouch - opinions, please

    Hi,

This is a pouch for 3 MP40 magazines. It is either German WWII, or Bulgarian made postwar for the MP40s left in the Bulgarian army after the WWII.
So, is it German, or not?

and one more. BTW on the pictures the color of the pouch looks tan-brown-red, but it is absolutely not!!! This is only because of the light. The real color is a kind of olive, gray-green color. The leather straps are also darker.

I don't think it's German either Ted; I've never seen them use brass fittings on gear like this

I agree with Gene. The brass is a problem.

                      Cheers.

I agree that it is not WWII German. Have been seeing more of these showing up recently. I think they appear to be military issue and not a repro....IMO. The question is where are they coming from?

You are right, Willi, this one and the one that I showed some time ago, they are not repro, they are military issue. From the Bulgarian army after the WWII. Quite many /thousands, as far as I know both supplied to Bulgaria and left from the German armies in WWII/ MP40 were left here and were used in the Bulgarian army postwar. So I was wondering whether these pouches are original German, or postwar Bulgarian, seems they are postwar Bulgarian, military issue.
