    need help with wirecutters

    Hello to all on this forum .

    i just bought these wirecutters if i am not wrong i believe they are the long pionier wire cutters correct me if i made a mistake please.

    This is complete new to me so i just want to be sure.

    I have searcht over the net and here on this forum but i cant find much info on this matter.

    are these ok or not?
    And has anyone have some info on the maker mark it's DELIAWERK SOLINGEN
    YEAR 1942.
    Havend found a WaA mark on it or not looking on the wright spot.

      How many models are there of these long wirecutters during ww2.

      I have seen one on MP44 site but its a diferent model of what i have.

      Are these hard to find or not?

          hello to all.

          I think i found the maker of these wire cutters correct me if i am wrong DELTAWERK SOLINGEN.
          I just stumbled upon it on the net via google.

          maybe i by me a pair of glasses.
          sorry if my englisch is not so good.

            This model of shears is not nly for pionier but also part of panzer's equipment.

              Thats interesting i didnt know that.
              There still a little paint left on the chears its feld grau so is this the normal color?

              where can i find good info on the NET about these chears and is there a way to tell if mine was pionier or panzer equipment?

              And are these rare or not?

                The shovel, ax and wire cutter carried on tanks were the same as used by pioniers.
                Wire cutters normally have handles in red-brown bakelite and the steel shears painted black.
                They are by no means rare and one sees them around for 90-120 Euros.

                  And thank you for the lesson in shears / wirecutters this is verry helpfull to me.

                  As for the price than i didnt pay to much also regarding the state there in.

                  Just one question that i have how many models are there during WW2 of these long wirecutters / shears or can someone give me a link to go to?

                    Your cutters have handles made of compressed paper/cardboard, the cutters on the tank are different and bigger.
                    Also, the ones you have came in a canvas bag and are not so rare.

                      Hello Anders,

                      Are you sure the panzer ones are even bigger? The ones here are the big ones. Are you not confusing them? See these two photos:#1 are the short ones (this one depicted is post war example, though) and #2 are the long ones, as used for panzers. Both might have pressed cardboard handles with bakelite tips and ring.

                        @ anders1940 your right about the handles mine ar made of carboard or paper
                        complete even the tips ar made of that. mine are about 63.5 cm long.

                        I also have one like the picture Carles posted a small one made in 1942 by GYR an a WaA thats almost gone its WaA 64 if i see it good.

                        @ Carles i didnt know they made these cutters small ones postwar also.
                        Did they make the long one also postwar.
                        Like i said mine have complete cardboard handles and tips i didnt find anything of bakelite on it maby this is some help to you.
