Gebirgsjaeger bergschuhe for our friend Pedro

Last night I've recieved a PM from our friend Pedro-a new member from the Great Land-asking me if the boots he was after were genuine WW2 WH-issue ones;as it often happens on eBay they were lemons sold by some German crooks as "genuine WW2 WH bergschuhe"!
I'm posting now the photo of a pair of 1937-dated and gjr137-stamped bergschuhe from my collection along with two pictures of the duds Pedro was after. The differences should be evident and even if the side nails may look similar please consider that Corvette's rear lights are similar to Ferrari's yet...the 'Vette ain't no Maranello's Wonder but while it still remains a hell of a sportscar these shoes are in fact pure,24-karat s h i t and the seller, who claims them to be 1232% WH issue is a 36-karat crook!Pedro....I'll keep you posted as soon as I'll see a pair of bergschuhe worth of this name !
    Hope that helps
    Manny

Beware... the shoes auctioned on eBay could look, from a very long distance, like mod 1928 Reichswehr Bergschuhe...if it wasn't for the lack of external stitching and reinforcement, and the completely different sole layout and..........you'd still need to have had a pint or three!

Thanks so much for your time in posting your photo. It can be hard to learn good from bad when so much is misrepresented. Is there a good comprehensive boot or shoe reference book available? I don't suppose war photographers figured I would be studying and viewing their images - trying to determine eyelet type and stitch patterns 60+ years later...
