Luftwaffe " Seenotfibel "

Hi all,


I have found a little booklett for Fighterpilots or Bombercrews. Its called "Seenotfibel" D.(Luft) 1204. Inside there many color Pics with characters using flight eqiuipment, looks like a comic. My question is, is this a rare book or turns it up often ? Can somebody say the actuell market value for this book.

I have several pictures, but can´t post them. Is somebody out there how can do this for me.

It sounds like you have a seldom seen booklet for seaplane pilots. I know that limited numbers of different Fibels (instruction Bibles) were produced during the war...like the Tigerfibel. I have seen one for a fighter pilot but not a seaplane pilot. I couldn't tell the price of you book but I know a complete Tigerfibel can sell up to $400 to $500. I just happen to have one. I also have one for the PZ IV/Panther. Maybe some one else can come up with a price for yours. You have to be an Association Member in order to post pics or sell items on e-stand. Petz, many thanks for your information. Francois thanks for posting the pics. These two bookletts are comming together from a member of "Legion Condor". And he is still alieve (92) years.

Now that I see a copy of the Seenotfibel I believe it is a air & sea rescue booklet for downed pilots. Really interesting and have never seen one before until now. Unless someone else chips in I believe it could be worth around 85 to 100 EURO. B. Petz

Thanks for your pricing.
The character in the book is a well known film acteur of the 40´s in Germany. Maybe you know him. Heinz Rühmann. He makes many films in this time.

Hi Jens,

I do believe I heard of Heinz Ruehmann. Many propaganda films used famous actors during that time. That is the ones that didn't leave Germany for the Hollywood - USA. By the way, I moved back to the USA last July after living in Germany (Baumholder, Heidelberg/Schwetzingen, Grafenwoehr, Stuttgart) while serving the US Army as a Soldier and later Civilian for about 16 years. I do miss all my friends and the flea markets in Germany. Bill

Bill, you are correct with these acteurs. Wow you living in Germany for so long time. I live in east Germany, your enemys in the cold war . Here are the fleamarkets sometimes like a Goldmine, but sometimes you get nothing.

I never considered Eastern Germany or Russia as an enemy...at least not as much as Communist Northern Vietnam. I spent one year in South Vietnam.
I would think after hiding all the forbidden WW2 items during the Communist era that there should still be plenty hidden away in Attics and Kellers. I knew several prior East Germans that would go back and bring alot to flea markets in the West. - Bill
