Hi, what do the markings

8.39 B.A. Fu (umlaut over the U) signify?

They are stamped in to the back of a Heer belt rig that I own.

I do not think it is Heer belt. I own one which is marked 7.39 B.A.Fu. (u with dots on the top). I am rather sure that this is RAD belt. I always thought that B.A. stands for Bau Abtailung. You can always find B.A. letters on RAD equipment.

IMO 'BA' means 'Beschaffungsamt' (procurement office)

I do not think it is Heer belt. I own one which is marked 7.39 B.A.Fu. (u with dots on the top). I am rather sure that this is RAD belt. I always thought that B.A. stands for Bau Abtailung. You can always find B.A. letters on RAD equipment.

If it would be a R.A.D.-belt, you would find R.A.D-markings on it.

Well...I do know that this is Heer belt and has been since 1944

Markings are RAD, not saying heer couldn't have reused it.
