Unknown tripod - for weapon, optik, ...?

Patrick....looks like a bipod for a mortar tube of some type...the clamps on the single leg are typical for a mortar...more than likely a captured mortar used in German service. I'll see if I can dig any info up for this.

That looks funny, whats the diameter of the Clamps, maybe that gives a direction.

Belongs to no mortar I can think of, it has no traversing screw or sight mount, nor cross-leveling adjustment. If an ordnance item at all, maybe a last ditch mortar or small rocket launcher. But it looks more like an engineer item or for construction, there's no traverse with the large hand wheel it just tightens the legs in position.

Fired a lot of rounds through a mortar, really doubt this was used as such.
