The lids are real nice. I have a number of jars but not a single lid. Good catch. Jim
New Scho-ka-kola tin which has me puzzeled. The lid is the same as the pre war and just post war tins, with the offwhite/cream paint job. The inside is the gold color not silver. However the bottom is plain off white/cream, with no writing and no stamp in the metal. I had thought that the writing had been removed but it is clear that this tin never had it. The tape round the outside is printed with the Scho-ka-kola logo and the logo of Hildebrand. Coco content is 52.5%
Now it is time for Mr Pool to get all excited.
I have just picked up Die Kriegsernährungswirtschaft volume 1 and 2. These books are from 1941 and come in 3 volumes (I could only find 2 though)
Volume 1 contains the following:-
1 Behoerdenaufbau
2 Allgemeine Bewirtschaftungsbestimmungen
3 Kartensystem
4 Krankenhäuser und andere Anstalten
5 Gastsätten und Werkküchen
6 Besondere Berufe (Schwerarbeiter usw)
7 Kranke und Gebrechliche einschl. stillende und werdende Mütter
8 Selbstversorger
9 Wehrmacht, Schutzgliederungen und RAD
Volume 2 contains the following:-
10 Getreide, Mehl und Brot
11 Kartoffeln und kartoffelerzeugnisse
12 Nährmittel und Genussmittel
13 Fleisch
14 Milch, Milcherzeugnisse, Oele und Fett
15 Eier
16 Konserven, Zwiebeln und Gewürze
17 Marmelade, Obstgetränke
Volume 3 contains the following
18 Zucker
19 Schokolade, Kakao und andere Süsswaren
20 Fische
21 Tierfutter
22 Verschiedenes
23 Strafbestimmungen
At the back of volume 3 was also an overview of the laws, regulations, decrees, etc. and a list of the nutritional offices and the main Index.
The volumes also include various forms that would be needed.
The last photo (which is not clear at all, sorry) shows the rations for a solider while on leave. It states the following

Very nice. Do these books actually cover specific food items as far as different products, product names, packaging, etc or is it basically a nutritional guide with food authorizations etc.
Does it provide instructions to industries on how items were to be packed marked etc.
There were numerous references published on foods most were too technical and probably of little interest to most collectors.
