I'm not sure on the Am Knudzen text (maybe a german native speaker can help out??). The filter however is used post war by the Czech army. Mask and cannister looks OK, no direct signs of re-use but it might be possible. Either way, it is and stays a german gasmask.

Try to find a FE37 filter and you'll have a nice early set.

Unless the filter is damaged or rusted don't through it away. With a little rubbing alcohol and a cotton wad you can quite easily remove the blue stamp. Several years ago I found a 45 dated canister that had the shown marking on the lid, being that 45 dated cans are hard to find I bought it and as described removed the blue stamp leaving no trace and very little if any removal of the original paint.

Why discard it?? it's a fine filter and it's a correct one for the gasmask. The mask doesn't need a FE37 filter as the gasmask itself is from 1942 or later. Only the cannister is an early model but I have orginal sets that had a similar setup. Nothing wrong with this setup.

              Sorry but I misunderstood.

I thought the filter was completely postwar, but only the stamp ''56X50 S28-51'' is a Czech Postwar stamp, the rest of the filter is original German?

The Blue stamp i can easily remove it.
