    Flare Bandoleer Help!

Does anyone have a clear photo or photos of a flare bandoleer? Any help is appreciated!

    Hi,

Flare bandoleers came in many different types ,therefor it's very hard to show "textbook" examples..

The luftwaffe used so many types,a lot of these were self /field made examples..

Very hard items to find and very hard to detect if original or not..

Here's a privat one from my collection..., notice the loops are even lined with grey silk..

These can hold 6 flares each..

Still looking for the empty flare cartridges though.

            Thank you Jos!

How different were the larger, "chest" variety? same type, just longer, or altogether different?

I have some empty east german cartridges I could send you if you'd like.

My guess is that they connected 2 bandoleers together to create a long one.

Some pictures show they're wearing these bandoleers on the hips bothside..just 2 connected ones IMO..

Maybe large chest ones were made ,I never saw one ,except in photo's ,but always hard to tell how they really look..
              I'm only talking flighttroops now..

There's a para picture showing a rarely seen chest bandoleer...

Yes, a couple of postwar cartridges would be great to fill these up..

              Jos.

                bingo!

                Jos -

That's exactly the piece of equipment I was thinking of - and sadly the closest shot I've seen yet!
