    " Farbbeutel FL 30028-1 ".

    Hi there,

One of the more rare Luft items is probably the Farbbeutel = paintbag .
It contained another bag with "paint powder" that came in several colors and that could be spread in the water when a pilot etc was shot down ,so the chance of finding him was increasing..

These items are hard or let's say almost impossible to find and I've only seen a few around..
Most only bare the text " Farbbeutel FL 30028-1 "

Here's a found example and although not one of the nicest I'm happy to have it..
This one also bares the text how to use it on the back... ,although not marked as such I know this one is dated 1944..
This one is made of very thin rubber on black linen cloth...
Earlier types ,or should I say other manufactored ones were mostly made of thicker material as far as I know...

It's just great for displaying IMO...

If anyone has additional info about these ,please post it here..

    Jos.

Hi Jos, interesting item. I had never seen one of these before? The RAF had a similar item called a "Dye Marker pack". These are rare too and are now faked

        Cheers, Ade.

Nice piece Jos, as usual! Might you know where to get a repro one? I don't think I could find an original but a nice repro might not be a bad idea.

                    Hi Gene ,

No, I don't know any repros.., although they're easy to make IMO..
Just a old yellow raincoat and some glue.., the text is more a problem..
If I might know another one ,I'll know where to find you..

                    Attached to the doll.....!

                    Jos.
