Hmmm I'm not liking them edwin. Perhaps a closeup of the stitching.
The front pockets look a little narrow to me, however it could be due to shrinkage.
There was some original mint pre-war frogs coated in wax that was found (different makers)...with a small hole like these, however they looked a little different.
All by the same maker seems odd.
They are also missing the stitching down the middle.
here is an original wax coated one, nice brass rivets....

16 frogs, all made the same and with the same maker stamp?? Very odd.

well, that much with the same maker is not that odd....see the bundlles of chinstraps that turned up last year

Makers on these frogs are "A.KLEIN ERFURT 1940"
              and "Sattlerei DETRING 1940"

              Cheers

They may be true but IMO the mark "Sattlerei DETRING 1940" does not make any sense at all.

hi, what would be the problem with Sattlerei DETRING ?? Allso missing the stitching down the middle I have seen before....or is that odd too ?

                  Regards

It doesn't say anything really. It would be like saying "Knickers, London" on a pair of panties from Charlie Snyder.

As for the missing stitches, I have seen this before.

Do you know if there is an extra piece of leather marked by the white arrows?
Interesting extra stitch holes marked by the red arrow.

Forget the stitching, the pockets look nothing like originals.

Some of the features look good (rivets and 'rawness' of leather on the back), others are definately NOT (could be discussed):
                            1) Markings look very badly applied (some have been struck two times)
                            2) 'Sattlerei Detring' is a still existing company in Bad Ems (Rhineland-Palatinate). But why is the city not mentioned? Has anyone ever seen markings without place of production omitted?
                            3) The combination of the production year 1940, and the brass rivets is odd, not to say impossible. As I stated before in other posts, brass was a 'strategic' material, not to be used anymore in 'simple' pieces of equipment (after 1936?). I personally NEVER saw brass rivets or brass hardware being used on equipment after 1936 (only late-war rivets that seem to be covered with a brass-like protection layer, probably not even real brass...)
                            3) Finding a lot with the same maker is possible, but very rare...
                            4) Frogs seem more of a hybrid between field and parade equipment...

                            Should be discussed further...

Who mentioned brass, I agree the color appears to be, but not, there would be green around the rivets like on the one I posted.. The German army would never use brass rivets wartime, if they were left over they would have been used up before 1940.
All I see is fake aging, while the bayo lug holes appear unused.
If they were mint they would be blackened in 1940 or chocolate not raw heer leather that is naturally darkened. Still do not like the middle stitching not there I would like to see some originals like that.
Anxious to see if this "discussion" continues.
