Robert, looks to me to be a German made sling for a Moisin Nagant rifle. If it is, it's very rare. Jeff

I don't have a Nagant just a SVT38 and SVT40, I never thought of that!

I'm going to post this on the Firearms forum and try to find some Nagant sites and see... Oh, this is getting fun!

You are right! it is a German made sling, I started digging and found a Russian sling and its a match!

Also other collectors have advised me that it is a German made Nagant sling.

What a question! There is only one thing you can do - add a Mosin Nagant to it!

Robert, thanks for posting that sling. Until now I have never heard of one before. I used to have a nice 91-30 with german waffenampts on it. I know the Germans captured and used them, but never heard of a german made sling for these rifles before. This one you posted is truly a rare gem, I guess we never stop learning. Robert, I just remembered. Some Tokarov SVT's were also adapted to fit this type of sling. Your sling might even be for one of these. I suppose there is no way to really tell though. Jeff
