German metal kiste - ID needed

Anyone who has an idea what the original purpose/contents was of this box?

Heavy metal construction.
Feldgau paint.
Measurements : Length 34cm Width 25cm Height 16cm.
It has 2 keyholes - no other markings found except for the medical unit-abreviation which was added by hand.

Box for soldier's pay. Resembles the box in the museum at Raversijde (Belgium). Unit marking seems logical.

Makes sence too when able to close it with 2 keys right

Can't remember seeing similar one in Raversijde, will take note of it next time!

It's in the diorama with the paymaster, paying out to the KM soldiers. One of the setups in the bunkers, behind the glass. It's been a while for me too, though. I seem to remember this box with TWO keys.

Guess the reason is that I'm too focussed on the medical set-up

I checked the website and there's a photograph of the diorama. The soldiers are regular WH, but the box is exactly the same, with keys chained to the hinge. Nice box, fantastic piece of WH history!
