How many stack for Zeltbahn carried individual German soldier during IIWW?

    Hello,
could you help me in that subject?
In my reenacting team we recently discussed problem: how many stacks for shelter quarter was give for individual German soldier durig IIWW.
On the Tom’s web portal I found information that “…Every soldier was provided with the following tent equipment: … 2 Tent stakes 29 (Zeltpflöcke 29)…”
    http://www.mp44.nl/equipment/zelt_ausrustung.htm

Of course I won’t to question his knowledge, but is any original documents (regulations, manual, etc.) which clearly explain this subject?

And the secon question: how popular was bag for Zeltbahn accessories? Every soldier was given that?

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards

    Hindus,

Tom (mp44) is -as most of the time- right. In the Heeresdienstvorschrift (HDv) 205/1 'Vorschrift für die Zeltausrüstung des Mannes' (20 april 1932) is written on the first page:

"A. Beschreibung der Zeltausrüstung des Mannes:
    Die Zeltausrüstung besteht aus:
    I. 1 Zeltbahn 31,
    II. 1 Zeltleine 92,
    III. 1 Zeltstock 01 (einteilig),
    IV. 2 Zeltpflöcken 29. "

So, two metal stacks (is this the right English word?) and one wooden pole. Most of the collectors I know always want three of each, which is not necessary, although a veteran once told me they indeed tried to get more of them (contrary to regulations).
There is no mention of the bag in the HDV 205/1. They seem to be somewhat scarce, because I searched for years to find decent examples (early WH, unit marked etc.).
    Hope this helps you.

    Greetings,

    Lucius

          HDv205/1

          Hi MP44_tom,
it is unbelievable that you have got the HDv 205/1. There are a lot of pictures out of it out there but no copies. Could you copy the whole booklet and post it? I am sure that many people would be greatful.
In any case: May the force be with you....

I bought a nice reprint of this HDv 205/1 in the bookshop of the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz, just last year.
I don't know who reproduces them, but everything was in it, including the fold-out drawings.
When in Germany, visting the WTS at Koblenz, a visit to the nearby military bookshop is a must.
They have books on every miltary subject (also in English).

And when tentpoles and pegs were lost, damaged or not issued, then branches cut to the appropriate size were used.
