Where to buy a Zeltbahn...

Hi all, I'm a helmet guy but am looking to get a bunch of fieldgear so I can have some representative examples of things to go along with my helmets. I have found most of what I'm looking for except a good splinter zelt. Anyone have some advice on where to buy one,what to look for and what to avoid? What kind of price would I be looking at for a nice earlier dated piece? Thanks in advance!

was a joke, but not for all... Look at the new items of Weitze, he gots near 10 of them, IMO with some "concern points" and the straps look strange too...

Gott sei Dank mein alter! Seems people are goin' outta their heads nowadays!I'll have a look at his planen and related leatherware!
How can you possibly ask such a sum for such a common item?....now everything's clearer:PARMALAT's owners needed big money to buy at Weitze's!

his tents were already expensive in 1999 (as I remember round 75 €, what was (and still is!!) too expensive for a tent. But 165 €.... I let you think about this...
No seriously, to come to the thread's starting point, if you need a tent go at little shows or by collectors... Avoid such big dealers for quite a common item, you'll pay too much for it because they have "renommée"...
Only my poor opinion.
@ Manuel: no comments on the Parmalat freaks, some maybe buy from Weitze, but some are already dead...

They couldn't afford the tunics he had for sale...that's why!
You can find nagel-neu Zelts for a mere 30€ at militaria messen in Italy and France and those guys at Weitze's really think militaria collecors are their captive customers...someone should boycott dealers behaving like that and it's also a wise move to unmask dealers who are well aware that they're selling repros which they state are originals(you know who I'm talking about,since you seem to be a Militaria Magazine reader...especially of the last pages )!

I USED to read the Militaria magazine when I was younger, but it's not a reliable source... They are sponsored by such dealers, not by the people who buy the magazine!!

You're right Teka, I quitted buying and reading it for a few years but now it features very interesting and professionally written articles on WW2 German equipment worth reading.Last one concerning the German Tunics from 1935 to 1945 is very well made and worry not...no more fakes from the like of JDLG/PAC and HSC featured in the (in)famous"GROS-PLANS" to boost their sales!
Have a look at one of the latest issues and let me know!Of course,HSC still advertise there....the name of the game here is to stay away from them and from anything coming out of their warehouse,especially the 5654344434554544 original Waffen SS Cuffbands they advertise each month

I think in the USA you're lucky to find a Zelt under $75(at least a good one which is stamped and has all its ties). Europe may be cheaper, I have not bought there for some time.

On Militaria Magazine, yes there were some dodgy items featured about 4 years ago but I still find it a great source of info some very good articles on Field gear, ammo pouches water bottles etc. Some other good articles most recent addition covers the LVF, whilst the sleeve shields are obviously tacked on for the feature it is still packed with nice gear.

Try belgian militaria shows ! There are a few each month and one of the largest shows in europe is at Ciney twice a year !
Zelts are a lot cheaper then in France, Germany or England. Only Holland is a bit the same as far as prices are concerned.

Militaria magazine is great, providing you know what to look for, but I agree not all items shown are originals. I guarantee that all items shown in the articles I have written for the past few years in Militaria are 100% original !

Finally try checking websites of some forum members, they often offer good militaria for sale as well !!
