gas mask cannister question/help

hallo all
for modelling reasons i am trying to depict a SS private of the LAH e.front 1941
in a 1/6 scale unfortunately i am missing the gas mask canister and my only alternative is to take one from a Volksgranadier [HEER] of 1945
Would this be acceptable/accurate?
The canisters in use with the wehrmacht in 1945 could ithave been in use with the waffen SS early in 1941?

All German army personell got the same gasmask, either they have a GM30 3de pattern or the GM 38. The only exceptions where some naval artillery units who got an optical gasmask (rare piece!!) or the communication units who got the GM30 Funker and of course FJ units got the mask in a bag. There were no "special" gasmasks for the SS. The cannisters were all the same at that point.

No problem.....

basically , the gasmask cannisters were unchanged from let's say 1938 - 1945, so a normal cannister is ok
