Pictures aren't great, and fakes are...here's a link to some basic information, once posted on the GD-forum by Rorbert Noss... You have to sign up there to see the pictures though. I hope this is of any help?

Hi all, just as a quick observation i'm not sure i like the little piece of webbing in the middle of the bottom section (picture 9f_1.jpg). On the originals i've owned it is found on one side only...i'm just recovering from a total system re-install (thanks to a "Windows XP" upgrade ) so all my software is not installed again yet. When it's back on i'll post a couple of shots of what i mean.
        Sorry until then,

        Patrick.

Patrick, I know what you mean and I agree with you. I think it should be on only one side of the cross piece.

Mine is the same, a 1939 dated peice, with the small webbing "bit" on one side only.

              Cheers, Ade.

hmm...what could it be then? east-german or just reenactor one?
but let's say that there is a maker markings on metal parts - like "cux" or whatever. are these common to post-war stuff to?
                thanks!

The mark is probably "LUX". I can't remember seeing a reproduction with that marking on the metal tabs before. That will be found on wartime pieces, though.

I don't like it. Real ones are rare.

                      hey colorado!

you think that anything that's rare is definately fake?

anyway, thanks for the replies everybody! i will buy from some village in estonia then and then i can be 100% sure that it's authentic.

Hi Sturmmann, I think before anyone can say 100% about your A frame, we need to see good, clear pics.

                        Cheers, Ade.

                            Hi Sturmmann:

No, I don't think that all rare are fake, but 95% of the A-frames are. Yes, I may be premature in my assessment, so photos would help. I see a few things that I would like to confirm though and I have been wrong before. But, based on what I see, I still don't like it.
