This backpack comes with this story. The SS officer was stationed in Budapest and, as a colonel, had an SS saddle made into a back pack for his assistant to carry his papers. There is a Waffenampt stamp on the back "flap" which would seem to indicate a source for the leather since this is apparently a privately made piece.
I think the leather looks good as to age and patina and the quality is certainly within the construction.
Would this be considered a legit piece by the SS experts?
I have a chance to pick this up but I need some opinions asap. The pics are so-so from a cell phone under so-so lighting.
