        Hello
These are not of military origin , but are in fact for the civilian market . These were very fashionable in the early part of the 20th Century , so no , they are not post-war either .

Actually these are 1960s Bundeswehr issue. They are obviously military construction. When they were introduced, I do not know but they worn in early 1960s. Not standard issue though. They wore with ankle boots (Schnurshuhe) it appears but most West German soldiers wear jackboots at this time. Maybe they were for Gebirgstruppen like you say?

            From Bundeswehr website (ca. 1963-64?):

            regards
            Klaus

              Hello
Interesting pictures but , not at all the same ones .
You can finds these in many antiques stores , here in the USA , in places like ebay , often labeled as 1920's spads .

The model is indeed in the early '20th century. But the ones in the opening post are post-war. Look at the construction, cloth and leather type's used for these. Could be Bundesheeres, but it could also be GDR in my opinion.

                  Salut,

The regulation does actually provide for wear of that type of spats for the pre-war Herr officers walking out dress ... If a member has a pair of such issued spats for comparaison ?

                    .

In that photo I see rather Styrian gamaschen. Not the thread starter dress type.
