    The green band could be some sort of unit marking?

      I suspect that the green band actually refers to the kind of filter there was in the cannister. I suspect this because of the number 15 on the lid, this could be a number that was applied while the gasmask was in use in a company. Many of these were used even as late as the early 1970's. A filter with a green band is against Ammonia (which was widely used as a coolant for machines in the food industie) and the gasmask could just stand somewhere in case of a leak.

        Can somebody tell me what that mumber on the cannister and mask means?? In the pic on page one you see the number 805 on both the cannister and mask.
