    Unknown bag opinion

    Hi friends,
Do you know what this bag is for? Has it something to do with an early WH gas mask?
    Thanks a lot!

that's in v. fine condition, they are said to be rare...should be an imperial eagle under leather front flap, with date, etc.. one in stuttgart two years ago was going for 50 euros.

                Gas Mask Bag

Nice bag and the ID is correct... the trick now is to find the mask.

be prepared to spend big $$ for one, they are scarce and quite sought after. Even after 17 years of collecting gasmasks I never came across one IRL. I've seen a few examples on the bay but the prices were beyond my reach and willingness to spend.

Good luck to find the specific carrying strap as well.....
If you could provide some markings stamped in the bag, it would be great. If that's impossible, no problem, seeing a simplified GM24 carrying bag is already a good thing.

most examples I have seen that were in decent condition went over 400$. This is not a surpise, with only about 200.000 made it is certainly a rare item nowadays.

                          Photo linked from http://www.gasmasklexikon.com/.

This is 1 of the types, there are several gasmasks of this type (like GM24 Funker,...)

Well,i paid 115 dolars incl.postage for this bag,i think it is a good deal despite not having a strap. When i receive it i can provide some more shots if anyone interested..
Heard some sort of german units used these obsolete gas mask sets during WW 2. Does anybody have any infos who used it?
Did various colors of this bag exist?
Thanks so much for all infos friends!!!

I find that a good deal considering the rarity of the thing.

I think some flak units were given these masks because it easier to do their job with a hosed gasmask than with the filter attached in front. The corrugated hose has also been used for Panzer troops in combination of their normal issued gasmask.

For the different bags I would go to http://www.gasmasklexikon.com , enter the site and go to the Germany M flag, under there you will find GM24 with some different bags that have been used with this gasmask.
