Early esbit burner in steel.

I found the early Esbit stove now also in steel. As far as I'I know, those are even more rare than the alluminium type.


Untill this moment I thought they only existed in alluminium. I displayed that one as comparison. The Original fuel package was also inside. It was still protected by the wrapping. The wrapping has gone lost because of the rust that was inside.

I have no ideal if they were manufactured at the same time, but they are identical. (on the photo the fronts are just mounted different)

I also have no idea when this type was introduced, but it must be pre- or realy war.

...I have the same One "Old Model" in Steel. IMO produced Pre War, for Sure also Wartime used

would the german soldier have been allowed to use his messtin as a cooking instrument? or would they have only been allowed to use it as a container for rations served? since these cookers blacken so all they come in contact with. sure, ive seen blackened messkits...but theyve had plenty of time to get so between 1945 and now...just a thought...very nice kits here, by the way.

Hi I am collecting esbit stove and recently got both aluminum and steel type of early version. However aluminum stove has odd design comparing another one. I have no idea if there are two types of design in the early version. Left=aluminum Right=steel

Obviously the description of aluminum type is shorter than steel type and illustration is different too. i don`t think there is fake of this model but please let me know if you have any doubt.
