Ratty old canteen

Hi Guys, Im not much into field gear but found this canteen for next to nothing at a gun show, its seen vastly better days, can anyone assist with an ID? It was sugested it may be medical with the small cup.

Can you please show the bottle without the cap? Sorry, I can't get the size, is it regural or smaller? Any markings?

And if postwar, then what indificates that? The straps?

A look at the screw cap would be helpful.
But it seems to be a early east german bottle.
