Hi all,
I wonder why the officer's mess of Berlin (?) would use cutlery with cyrillic markings on it... Was Germany that poor that they shipped captured spoons from the eastern front back home just to equip their officer's casinos in the Reichshauptstadt?
Isn't it correctly spelled 'OffizierSheim'?
Just my '2 euros'
Greetings,
Lucius

Lemmy,
I was being sarcastical about the 'shipping' of Russian spoons to Berlin. In 1941-45 anyway... What I suggested was this: a lot of fake stamps are made and used in Eastern Europe nowadays. No, I don't believe the German Wehrmacht used this kind of spoons in their officer's casinos. I think a Russian faker put simply a stamp on any old spoon he could find. I still believe that the correct spelling is 'OffizierSheim'. Could any of our German-speaking friends get this right?
Greetings,
Lucius
