          Hey Matt,

thank you for your extensive answer! I keep on learning in this thread... Also thanks for the clarifications about the WaA-markings. I'll post a longer reply later (not enough time).

Giancarlo, can you inform me about the shows in Italy? For that we have to go to another place on this forum, am I right?

          greetings,

          Lucius

            Waterbottle with brown cup

            Evening All,
Just love Mike Steves' 1945-dated bottle!
Here's my brown cup with a very dark grey enamel bottle - only markings are "AEMA 43" on the strap.
I think there must be more permutations of variety in the Feldflasche than any other piece of kit!
Best regards to all - keep 'em coming!
            Grossfuss

                      Very nice.
AEM.A is a producer who has often made use of this dark grey color
                      Congrats.

                        Thanks Mulon,
Do you know who/where AEMA were?
                        All the best,

That is a nice one Grossfuss!

I only collect 1945 dated examples- even though your strap is dated 1943, I find it hard to believe the canteen is 43 production. I have only 3 45 date canteens- sku1945, smm45 (green steel cup marked smm44), and hre45(aluminum cup marked hre45). These brown cups without handles show up on many differnet canteens, as your example shows.

Nice enameled late-war flask and cup, Grossfuss!

Is it possible that the straps are added later? 1943 straps and the rest clearly 1945! Perhaps a late-war assembly of available pieces, but in fact a 'hybrid' canteen. I have a list of makers, but I don't know if AEMA is explained in it. I'll look it up tonight or tomorrow.

                              Greetings,

                              Lucius

I don`t what happend here, but a 44/45 Canteen isn`t OK because the Strap is dated 43 ?
Imagine how the canteens were produced in 1944/45, there were one box with straps, one with canteencovers, one with canteencups, so you take one of each piece out of the box an put it together. Did you really know that the Kapo said " Hey, there is `43 dated strap an a `44 canteen, so change it and throw it away, what do the collectors of german military stuff think in 60 years !"
