Help with a fl. find...

Please help me identify what this thing is. This morning's fl. market find
Well, it is a thermometer and it is German.
But is it pre- or post-WWII? What is it from - aircraft, car/truck or other vehicle or machine? Looks very much like an aircraft instrument, but from what aircraft? /if from a plane at all.../



Marked from 0 to 160 degree C, also on the "face" are written serial numbers W4486610 and FL20308-6

The manufacturer label ontop says:
Einfach-Therm.
0-160 oC
Bauart: J.C. Eckardt
Gerat-Nr /blank space, no number/
Werk-Nr 448610
Anforderz.-Fl. 20308-6
Hersteller: J.C. Eckardt AG
Stuttgart - Bad Cannstadt

I found on one place info that the Eckardt company produced submarine water pressure gauges and "other things", but not mentioned what the othe things are . So what is it from? By chance, does the Fl stand for Flugzeug?

Hi,

A little report for what I managed to find out. It is German and it is WWII, but yet unknown from what type of aircraft - simply this type was used in several. A good possibility is the Junkers-86.

Could we see a picture? It may be the big red O with a line through it was a picture that didn't post? Sounds very intereting and my imagination goes wild trying to visualize it.

I do not know what is going on, the picture is seen now... Maybe the server was down? This happens sometimes when get overloaded /bandwidth or whatever these things are called/.
