    Esbit question (alluminium model)

    Hello,
I had a question about this model Esbit. I'm sure that it's pre 1945, since I saw on a website that a same model Esbit was found in Stalingrad. I don't believe the Bundeswehr has been there .

I have been looking for one for a while, but I managed to buy this one today.

When was this model made? Was it made at the same time as the Model 9, or was this mainly a Reichswehr model? I have seen these also made out of metal.

Since this one consists out of so many different parts , I'd quess that it would be a early model. The model 9 Esbit would be much easier and cheaper to make. It's also very easy to lose parts.

Ofcourse that's a quess. I hope someone knows it for sure.

    Thanks,

    Frank

          Esbit cooker

          Hi,
That's also one I'm looking for and I'm sure it predates the Mod 9.
One thing's for sure - it's pre 1943 when Esbit moved from Stuttgart to Murrhardt.
This date was given to a friend of mine by Erich Schumm GmbH a few years ago in a reply to a letter he sent to them.
          Lucky find!

                        Yes, it was me !
Around 50€ is OK for that stove, but 145 is freaked out !

                          Proof of use from Stalingrad

In the Helmet forum, in the Helmets in Stalingrad thread, ROMMEL-rus has posted one he dug up near Stalingrad. page 17.

He has posted the hole it came from and a series of pictures. Here is one of the pictures he posted:
