Late war canteen?

Hello guys, I`ve seen canteens like this earlier, but always thought they were paramilitary pieces. This one is 1945 marked, but what about 1943 dated? So, what`s your opinion - is this type of hanger late war or just a variation of political orgs?

no, it`s really complete rig, I`ve seen 2 or 3 pieces, all from HRE maker.

Im not familiar with that style hanger either. maybe a political organization as you said. Ill be watching to hear from others. Glenn

I have seen several of these HRE45 marked canteens with this setup, whether they were issued this way as a last-ditch variant or were put together after the war for civilian use is a mystery.
