Captured or discarded field gear photos

Friends,

The guys over in the firearms section have a thread that surfaces from time to time which contains photo's of mounds or piles of captured German weapons. I thought that we could do the same with field gear.

I'll start things off with what is probably a well know photo showing discarded helmets and gasmask cannisters.

Hello Ian,
I want to show an example of the way German abandoned helmets were used by farmers here in Italy. This specimen was a LW M40 single decal camo helmet which has been used to warm up the bed in winter by filling it with hot coal. Other typical use was as food can for chikens or, soldered to a pole, as a shovel for handling cows' excrements.

Well,
this is absolutely normal in Italy: still now sometimes it is possible to find such things in fleamarkets.
