            as a G43 pouches question keeps coming back.. why not ressurect this famous thread

            here is some auctions showing how far fakers went... they even age parts of pouches to make $5 off of it ...

                      Based on the posts on the WAF, and what Claus Espeholt has posted on his site, these are supposed to be original?

                      1. solid rivets
                      2. small "D" ring
                      3. thicker tab
                      4. bla 1944 matches style on other leather lba produced items
                      5. two stitches on the horizontal tab

                          I believe the consensus now is that they are left over originals, but Russian captured. The black paint on some rivets, and rings is from them. Supporting this is the massive amount of as new p38 holsters to come from Russia in the past half decade.

                          So while not completely untouched used originals, they are an interesting and cheap way into some pouches.

                            Of course they are WW2 german made, nobody doubts it except those who purchased some before that the russian lot was found and paid 20X more than now.
                            But I think they can be really happy to have pouches which have been used and saw the fight. Always better IMO.

                                Thanks gents! That is what seems to be the consensus, except one or two vocal member of the WAF. I appreciate their skepticism, but the "feel" of the pouches and the discussions move me into the "purchase as original" camp.
