    No ordinary backpack, unit marked

    This, what appears to be a plain standard backpack, has a little more teeth to it than it shows at first glance. The pack was found on a rubbish tip in 1972 near the town of Rotterdam, the Netherlands and purchased for 5,- Dutch Guilders ($2.00). I thought that some of you might enjoy seeing it.

                Ooops! Just saw that I placed this one in the SS cloth forum, it was meant for the Equipment section. Gary, please move this if you can.

                  Its ok we have had ss marked equipment here before, but I will move it for you.

                  Nice pack by the way, i cannot make out all the ink stamp on my laptop screen though what does it say?

                  cheers

                      Hi Gary,

                      many thanks for moving the thread.
                      The stamp says;
                      SS - Verfügungstruppe
                      2/SS Westland
                      1940

                      I attached a better picture

                          The pack is a superb example but the SS markings take it to another level.

                          I'll be double checking all Tornisters I see now!

                          Thanks for sharing.

                          Cheers
