Second time we see this very carrier in this forum.
I like the construction but not the markings, why should it be marked with a 3 letter code and the RBNr?

      gmo 44 carrier

Good point, as the RBnr was to replace the manufacturers marks for security reasons. Thanks David

It is good and untouched ( resewn etc) shovel carrier but somebody add makers marks. Sad.

Are there Rbnr marked carriers? Never seen one up here (but then again; we do not see much Rbnr marked stuff here....). The "gmo 44" stamping stinks!

Sorry for bringing this 10 year old topic back up. I recently bought a gmo + R.B.Nr. 0/0655/0013 marked carrier which should be similar to the one described here. Unfortunately the pictures in this thread are gone an the thread starter "jackboot" does not have them anymore.

A couple weeks back I bought this double marked 0/0655/0013 + gmo carrier on ebay. Since the code stands for the company Rahm & Kampmann which is located in my hometown Kaiserslautern it obviously was of great interest for me.
I have never seen shovel covers by that maker before. The double marking is typical though and can be seen on 1944 P38 holsters.

I'm not familiar with carriers and haven't handled many. Still it optically looked good for me and I had the feeling that the materials were right. I figured the stitching which differs from standard carriers could be a makers variant, as different stitchings can be seen by original pieces of other makers.

Still, from beginning on, I was not 100% sure if this is the real deal or not. There is something about this carrier that gives me headache but can't pinpoint what exactly it is.
Nevertheless I bid on the carrier, thinking that when I hold it in hands I will be able to tell if it is good or not, risking to loose money.
But still I can't make up my mind really. There is nothing on the carrier that I don't like but still I can't tell if it is good or not. A weird feeling, that most likely is caused by me being inexperienced with shovel covers and my knowledge of what fakers are capable of doing.

Long story short, who is able to help me here?
Can anybody tell if this is original or fake, or does anybody know carriers made by the same maker or does even own one?

            Any help appreciated.
            Cheers,
            Marco

              P38 holster for comparison.
Don't mind the Einzelfigur copyright. That is me on another forum.

Does nobody have a opinion on this shovel cover?

I must say I like it. It could be original ... But I am always very suspicious with mint items. All mint items are not fake, fortunately. I think you should open a new thread, I am sure the experts give you their opinions.

Thank you for your comment. I posted the same question on another forum and on both forums so far only got positive feedback.
But it is kind of strange that just very very few people are commenting on this pouch.
Do you really think opening a new thread would make it any better?
I think it is because people are as uncertain as I am.

Still it would be nice to get more opinions, even if it is just based on a gut feeling.

                          Cheers,
                          Marco

On the link below, you will find an other one marked "0/0655/0013 - gmo"

This one is also in mint condition ....

Thank you for that link. Even though the inside has a different color, it seems that the material being used has the same structure as on my cover.
Also interesting to see a 44 marking. On another forum I was pointed to pictures of another one of those carriers that shows just the 4.

Link to that thread, but I think pictures are only visible for paying members.

On my cover, knowing that there usually is a date stamp, I can very very vague make out some lines that could be the 44.
This style of sloppy stamping is the same that can be found on P38 holsters. There the 44 year stamp can go from almost invisible over half visible to perfectly visible.

I think I now have a much less nervous feeling about this shovel cover than I had before. Thank you for helping me.

                              Cheers,
                              Marco
