              LKpW101

This helmet is the LKpW101, as the leather ear covers and the communication cord slit are present. The K-33 and K-34 did not have them as they were unwired from the factory. Your helmet has had all the wiring removed, either for use where such communication equipment was uneeded, or by someone who needed parts for another helmet.

This helmet is not an LkpW101! It is a K33 winter flight helmet.

                  K33?

                  Gene,
I don't want to get into an argument, but check Prodger's white book, page 23. The K33 would not have the earphone covers (on this helmet they are flattened because the rubber inserts are absent). Also, because the K33 was not wired, one would not find the openings on the interior of the helmet for the headphones (like this one has).

                    Jon,

I don't want an argument either but you are completely wrong. Look at page 25 for what a LKpW101 truly looks like. Do you have either of these helmets in your collection? I have an LKpS101, LKpW101 and an LKpN101 and the helmet in question is obviously not what you say it is.

Yes, Gene, I've got these helmets in my collection and I know what they look like, with and without their electronics still intact. Look carefully at the Prodger's photos and you'll see that the seam running down the side of the K33 helmet is straight and not circular like the above helmet. If that's not enough, check Anders Skotte's book, page 52 at the top for a LKpW101 just like the one shown here.
