    German paint colours

    Hello everyone!

I'm hoping that one/some of you can help me please?

I'm trying to track down the "RAL" numbers for the Wehrmacht colours listed below. As I understand it, the RAL colour numbering system predates WW2 and was used by the Germans.

The colours whose numbers I'm after are as follows:

    Black green (I think it's RAL 6012?)
Tan (sometimes referred to as "Ordnance Tan" I believe?)
Red brown (eg as used on ammo tins)
    Ordnance blue
The dark grey used for some equipment - MG assault drums perhaps?
Other greens used for equipment eg cleaning kit tins, gas mask tins etc

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks Simon - that link has helped me with the standard colour for ammo boxes, but can anyone else point me to the RAL numbers for the paint colours used on eg gas mask holders, helmets, rifle cleaning kits, lafettes and ammo boxes which were tan/red-brown/green?

      Thanks.

      Nigel.
