Could someone post a list of everything that a german soldier had.
I mean from tunic and helmet to butter dose and socks.
    Thank You!

I would be interested as well. If I could impose on your thread, what standard equipment differs between the Infantry, Pioneer, Strom-troops, Heavy Infantry, Light Infantry?

            Hi Guys,

You are right the shovel and gas mask along with Bayonet, weapon binoculars, compass were a separate issue in the soldbuch. As for the map case and whistle the soldier was in the Motorcycle Reconnaisance Regt of the DR Div hence those items. In addition winter clothing issue is shown elsewhere(felt boots Anorak etc)

            Cheers

            MARK

              For Greg S,

20%(I think) of Pioneers within a Division were issued special pouches left and right on the belt and a backpack that allowed them to carry explosive charges up to 3KG as well as ammo and personal kit (mess tin, zeltbahn etc). There was also a leather demolition kit that held pliers spanner for fuze setting, a knife, pliers, fuze crimper. PIONEERS ALSO CARRIED A SAW, LONG pioneer shovel in leather carrier. a hand held canvas bag that carried 3KG Charges. Wire cutters.

              Cheers
