      the way their made there for someone who is sitting or kneeling, their not for someone who will stand very long due to their shape.

          OK,
          Here they are..,better pics..
          The elastic bands are too tight to fit the legs,so they're for the elbows.
          The inside cloth is the same as found in some flightjackets etc.
          The leather is of the very same sort as the winter flightcaps and leather flightsuit..
          (Air)Gunner is the most obvious IMO..

                I believe these are elbow and knee pads for fallschirmjager, used mainly during training for parachute drops, although apparently they were sometimes used in combat drops too.

                    Sorry Jos, I'm not a collector of militaria, all my information comes from being an amateur military historian these past forty years or so. I just happen to remember seeing a photo once of a para wearing these, standing in the doorway of a Junkers 52 waiting to jump. That and a brief mention in one of Osprey's Men at Arms series.
