Mapcase markings--what do they mean?

hi ausrustung fans.

i thought a thread may be interesting for those wanting to share map case markings...the odd numbers and letters sometimes found stamped in them.


i have seen one such marking - at a militaria fair last summer.

inside the pebbled brown leather flap it had

Ln. Abt. I/13

LBA.B 37

the mapcase was brown, made in 1937 with a full cover flap reaching the bottom of the mapcase front....

does anyone know what this meant, or have other markings to share?

Hi

Ln Abt I/13 means : Luftnachrichtenabteilung I/13 , but are you sure that is was 13 ?? I can`t found a LN Abt 13 !! See here

LBA B 37 means "Luftwaffe Beschaffungs Amt Berlin 1937"

thanks for the posting.......yup, it was 13..........but 13 isnt on the list you send as a link..............maybe the list is yet to be completed....?

so...the complete mapcase distribution re luftwaffe has yet to be completed....the list shouldnt be seen as exclusive...
