Why the metal loops on outside of grenade case?

    hi ausrustung fans.

having seen a picture of a metal stick grenade case, i was unsure as to what the four metal loops fixed on the outside were used for. one is triangular, the other three square shaped.

    any specific insights here please?

    thanks in advance.

The loops can be used to hook strpas to so you could carry the case on your back like a back pack or could be used as an anchor point if your strapping it down etc.

oh right! thanks for the effort wh!

i wonder if there were special straps made for these, and wonder too at the whys in the single triangular loop versus the three other rectangular ones.

reenactors may like to know too the most authentic way to represent a shoulder-slung grenade case....was there an instructed 'better way' for hitching these things up to the landser while moving in combat?

any pictures out there of these interesting boxes shown being carried on the body?

      thanks in advance.
