    Strange "Moon" Compass..

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me something about this item ?
It glows in the dark and has the same paint applied like the "Feldgendarmerie" gorget..
It's made outof a regular "Dreieckrechner" compass..
It also came with a little description of how it works.

    Jos.

Very cool item, the exact note to translate would be a bit too difficult for me but with this thing you can navigate with moon and the time (point the blue transparent arrow towards the moon and have it passing over the time/azimuth marking [has to bee added on the inner circle]) then set course (direction to the arrow on outer circle)- and there you go.- well it took me three times to read before i understood it- so dont worry if you cant figure it out with my bad explanation- its quite complicated but it works...

Yes, it is, "einsatztag" means day of action- the writing says that the mondkompass is only to be used on one einsatztag with the according time/azimuth values (these are provided by the weather forecast service or the militärische geophysikalische stelle)- i guess it is a luftwaffe or marine item because it also mentions a course you want to follow (and normally you only have a course on sea or in the air)

            Thanks Kai,
The note says something about "Einsatztage", so I guess this is a wartime item ?
