Hi!
Is very possible, that cast have war painting. In my opinion it was repaint in later war (1944/45).
I've mg cast in my collection in congruent painting. My cast come from german tank and painting is 100% original.

So it's my mg cast. It was found in destroyed german tank in 1945. Painting is definitely war.

what is the exact color ??- hard to tell from this picture ??

anyway - were You with this can for last 60 yrs ?? its hard to say anything for sure after 60 yrs based only on the story about german tank....

I've this case for 3 years. Earlier the case lay at the farmer together around a few different cases (two mg cast, two first aid kit and many others cases with german tank)
Farmer don't reapainted this..

ok.. We have a few repainted boxes..

cmon.. Piotr.. lets stay real - they are all three repainted the same way with shiney gray paint.. - whats that ?? a winter camouflage ???

typical post war paint IMHO. Farmer didnt repaint it - maybe His son then ?? maybe His father ?? maybe He got it at flea market 50 years ago....

Kuligow, I don't know why it was repainted... also... why farmer, maybe his son, maybe his father reapinted it and didin't paint card?
And why Darek's case, that come form Germany, have identical painting as my case, that come from Poland?
