Are bakelite water bottle tops dated?

Having seen a bakalite feld flasche top marked 46 got me wondering about the number's relevance. was such kit MADE in 1946 and used by post war german army? or is 46 nothing to do with the date of manufacture and often found on wartime water bottles?

thank you very much in advance.

Certainly nothing to do with date. The German Army was not reforming quite that early

    Cheers, Ade.

I would suggest a mould number.

This is a thread I started some months ago concerning bakelite cups. Guess it's good to post the link here as well.

            Hello,
On Bakelite cups, number 46 is the maker code for Erich Wippermann
