    Map case

    Hi there,

Here is a strange map case.
Could you tell me if it's a ww2 german example ?
Never seen it before. It's smaller size than the regular one.

Strange mapcase indeed.... Never seen this size before.....

The name inside sounds Dutch... Sergeant V.G. Vervoort..

Thanks for showing, maybe somebody else knows the answer...

Thanks for both comments and really interesting pic from boyouLaGleize.
You found it by yourself ????
                      Anyway, nice setups !!!!

It seems this one was taken by a belgian soldier from the 1st Belgian Group - "Brigade Piron" from a german soldier but as always, first buy the item not the story.

If somebody could show me some pics with this map case in use, i could be very helpful.

                      Thanks
                      Ron

I tend to agree. I do know that several different styles of Map Cases, often smaller than the issue ones, were available to officer's/NCO's to purchase on their own.

If this is an example of an issue special variation I would expect to the standard makers name or code and date stamped inside the underside of the flap.
