    Grenadiers Personal effects

I have attached an image of some of the personal effects carried by the average Grenadier. I would be interested to see other personal effects in the same thread. Apologies up front for the poor photos they are from a conventional Camera onto CD

    Cheers

            Very Nice , Rob!

I wonder what that little wooden box is for?
It seems that you have the same map as I...

I'm still looking for a small booklet with songs in it like the one you've posted.

            cheers

              Jan/Rob,

Thanks for showing your stuff really nice to see other personal items. I'll try a photograph more of mine and show them next month.

              Jan,

There is a shop I sometimes visit that has a selection of the song books I think you are looking for. I will be visiting in late August if you have not found a book by then I'll see if they still have them.
they were US$ 20 for a used condition and $30 for almost mint. I think they have all threes volumes.
It also has German wartime tobbaco tins etc.
              Thanks again for showing

Mark, thanks for the information concerning those songbooks. I will visit several shows this summer overhere, if I still haven't found at least one, I will certainly send you a email...

Rob, I meant the small wooden box just beneath the close-combat knife...is it a box for storing glasses or? It would be nice to see a close-up of it.

                  cheers

The box is Hautengiftungssalbe 41 lozenges were replaced by ointment issued in flat rectangular bottles of bakelite with screw cap the bottle was protected in this brownish cardboard case it was lacquered and stamped HAUT (skin), in my experience the bottle on its own is common but with its cardboard case is less so.
